Top Tips for Keeping Your Kitchen Clean & Tidy

Top Tips for Keeping Your Kitchen Clean & Tidy

July 28, 2019Kitchens by Nailsea ElectricalKitchen Bristol

Do you find yourself leaving the cleaning to the last minute? Or do you struggle to keep on top of your messy kitchen? Read on to find out our top 10 tips on how you can keep your kitchen (and home!) clean and tidy all throughout the week, no matter how busy you are.

1. Simple Organisation Organised kitchen

Keeping the layout of your kitchen simple will massively help when it comes to keeping things tidy. For example, having separate sections for each type of item such as utensils, plates, etc. allows you to keep things organised and tidy at all times.

2. Keep Surfaces Clear

By keeping surfaces clear, you make the entire cleaning process easier for yourself and others around you. If everything is put away neatly you can then easily wipe up any mess without a single problem.

3. Clean Up Straight AwayCleaning Up

Once you’ve had dinner or used anything in the kitchen, clean up your mess straight away. Rather than leaving the mess for later, be proactive and get it sorted as soon as you can. When you’ve finished cleaning up you can relax and get back to doing what you want to.

4. Have a Cleaning Schedule

Now I know we all hate cleaning, but it has to be done eventually. The best way to get it over and done with is to devise a cleaning schedule and stick to it. Whether you want to get the cleaning done on the weekend or on a specific day during the week, make the decision to do so. Not only will this ensure you clean up, but it also takes away the potential procrastination.

5. Use CoastersDrink on Coaster

Fed up with getting cup marks on your surfaces? Maybe get round to buying a pack of coasters! Not only do coasters take away the entire problem, but there are also many different designs and colours to choose from. You don’t have to worry about the decor as there will definitely be something to suit the style and colour of your current kitchen and house

6. Easily Accessible Bins

Make your life easier by having bins placed in convenient areas of your kitchen and home. Particularly if you have young children, this will encourage them to place their rubbish straight in the bin, rather than leaving it on the side until later. Ensure there is no littering

Vacuuming Floor7. Make Use of Your Vacuum Cleaner

Sweeping brushes are ineffective at best, so why not just get your vacuum out? Give the kitchen and house a quick hoover every couple of days and this will maintain the cleanliness throughout the week. You will find that most crumbs and bits on the floor are easily removed through doing this so you will only need to give the area a simple mop at the end of the week.

8. Empty Your Dishwasher ASAP

Once the dishwasher’s cycle is over, empty it and get everything put away as soon as possible. The longer you leave it, the more likely it is that you will have several things to clear up all at once. Keep on top of everything and you will find the cleaning process is that little bit easier than it was before.

9. Always Have a Bottle of Surface Cleaner AvailablSurface Cleanere

Surface cleaner never goes a miss. A quick spray and wipe over with a cloth makes all the difference, especially if you don’t have time for a major clean. You should definitely give your surfaces a wipe over every day to stop the build-up of grease and muck.

10. Get Rid of Stuff You Don’t Need

Whether it’s that old appliance or a blunt knife you no longer use, get rid of anything you have no use for anymore. There is no need for extra baggage, particularly if you are struggling for storage space. Be efficient and also recycle anything that is able to be recycled!

And who knows, you may even start to enjoy the cleaning…
